Mr. Japanese Curry
First time placing a takeout order tonight! Have been seeing it all over the place and wanted in on the excitement. Initial visit with the staff was very pleasant and welcoming.I decided to go with the Tonkatsu Curry at the spice level of 3 (the spice builds btw so prepare to have your taste buds awakened.)The curry was very flavourful and rich aswell as the tonkatsu being cooked very well while staying crispy/crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside! Each bite being very enjoyable all the way till the end.I would highly recommend to all Japanese curry enjoyers out there and would gladly return to try the other options!Big thank you to the staff for their hardwork and customer service!

Authentic, delicious and affordable!A wide range of curries and protein or vegan options! I recommend getting the chicken katsu or pork katsu, both made with chicken curry. If you’re in the mood for beef curry, their beef brisket curry is must try as well! There are tons of vegan options as well. If you’re in the mood for more or less food, the rice amount is customizable and you can add different add on to your meal. There is also an option to build your own curry.Staffing is very friendly too!

Best Japanese curry in town! I love chicken katsu curry with chicken curry sauce. It’s tasty, crispy chicken and yummy sauce. So amazing! This restaurant is quite small but I like the mood here like I’m in Japan. This is my 6th time. Must try!

I had a very nice experience at this little Japanese curry shop! They have lots of options (multiple vegan options) and the curries are highly customizable so you can really build your ideal meal. I particularly like that you can adjust the amount of rice and that you can change the sauce, so it would theoretically be possible to get a seafood curry with the vegan base instead of the default chicken bass so you could have a true pescatarian curry.I went with the vegetable curry and enjoyed it a lot! The gravy was richly flavoured but smooth, and I liked the assortment of vegetables. I’m not a frequent consumer of Japanese curry but this was probably the best one I’ve tried - something about the sauce was very memorable. I also tried their matcha tiramisu which was also pretty good, which you might not expect from a little curry restaurant! It seems like they used a good matcha - the flavour was strong but not bitter. This was all quite reasonably priced - the total was about $18 including tax.Along with the good food, the staff was very hospitable. They provided me with a glass of water and were very eager to help me feel comfortable. Although it looks like mostly a takeout place, the dine-in experience is pleasant since the staff is so nice and you can get your food on an actual plate instead of a takeout container. Very much recommend for some good Japanese curry!

ありがとうございました!! <3This is by far the closest I have come to my experience of travelling around Japan and tasting this incredible dish. My overall number one favorite grub spot in the whole of Vancouver, this place is totally dope I love it! It's so difficult to find a good specialized katsu joint, especially one that even has vegan options. If you've also been struggling, then look no further as this little gem is the place to be for sure. This grub is real authentic and home-cooking style flavorful Japanese katsu at its best, super yummy and tasty-addictive. It's a very quaint and efficiently ran little restaurant with extremely friendly and talented staff. The attention of detail, consistency and effort put into every dish made makes this joint an absolute winner by far. Even down to the portion of rice and the amount of katsu Curry sauce given is a perfect balanced ratio and seems that this menu has been perfected down to the smallest detail. The staff were even friendly and thoughtful enough to check we were OK with the Pumpkin croquet made from eggs as we ordered the vegan katsu which tasted AWESOME... ingredients and words cannot do justice honestly.I love their vegan options and the fact you can totally customize your meal depending on how your feeling at the time, at fantastic value for money for great quality food, I cannot wait to visit again!! I also added a Boiled egg and Pumpkin Croquette on top of my Vegan Tofu Katsu 豆腐カツカレー which made the perfect dinner combo.Support local businesses!I even got a follow-back from Mr Japanese Curry himself on Instagram which totally made my day!

I ordered Karaage Curry and my friend ordered Tonkatsu Curry. Both dishes were freshly made and the chicken was properly fried. The curry they serve has a sour taste to it. It is unlike the regular sweet Japanese curry. Still, it’s worth a try.

This is my favourite place for lunch. I always take out and eat in my office when I order. Quick and tasty, can't go wrong with the katsu options.

Came across this place while shopping on my lunch hour. Walking in the vibe was very good - it’s clear the owner and staff are committed to high quality. I’ve never been to Japan so I can’t say from experience but the food seems very authentic and the curries are made from a ingredients that “Mr. Japanese Curry” imports himself. I had a vegan curry with a very tasty pumpkin croquet. Friendly service and a casual atmosphere makes this a winner for a reasonably priced lunch or dinner.

I skipped my lunch and was desperately craving a filling meal, and look at what I found!I added two extra toppings but a normal set would come with 2 as well. They were all freshly out of the fryer, crispy and piping hot - which helped them maintain the texture even after the curry sauce soaked in.Their house curry sauce, although similar to the Japanese curry cubes from the supermarkets, had a sweet and tangy fragrance. I think it’s Japanese yakisoba sauce or something within the same category.I hope they could use better rice and reduce the water amount, but overall it was a nice dinner. Would be happy to have the chance to visit again and try their beef curry sauce.
